About Fraser MacKay

Fraser MacKay

Fraser Mackay was born in Harare, Zimbabwe in 1957. He attended Hartmann House, and Oriel Boys High.  He took up music and painting and began with working in watercolours. After a few years he decided to change his medium to oils and spent many, many years doing wildlife art depicting the animals of Africa.

Looking for something new, a few years ago he decided to change his medium once again from oils to graphite and pastel pencils and his career as an artist has since flourished.

He began by doing wildlife in pencil and through his work he raises money for animal conservation, namely the Friends of Hwange Trust, and the Kariba Animal Welfare Trust Fund.

Fraser now works on a steady stream of private commissions and towards further international exhibitions.
